Cursor disappears in drawing screen #309
Comments
Comment author: @bob-the-hamster I cant reproduce this one. When does the cursor disappear? And are we talking about the mouse cursor or the pixel cursor? |
Comment author: @arperry When in the drawing screen, the mouse cursor doesn't appear except inside the drawing window. I guess it's possible that my font file was corrupted. I get this in any graphic editor. I can tell that the mouse still "exists" because I can see buttons glow on mouseover, etc. |
Comment author: @pkmnfrk I have a hunch that this bug was caused by my patch (r1025 (5ec59d7)), which was removed in r1029 (39b1170). Please try a current nightly, and see if this bug still exists. If it's fixed, than this bug is invalid, and was caused by the fact that it never occurred to me that the mouse cursor, amongst other things, was stored as part of the font. |
Comment author: @arperry Umm... nope! I'm still getting this. Maybe it's a font problem. Isn't there a utility to fix my font in place without screwing it up? |

Go into the font editor, export your edited font to a backup file, then import the standard font. Test to see if the problem is solved. Then we will know for sure if the font is the cause. |
Comment author: @arperry I thought of an easier solution last night, actually -- try other RPG files. I get this same problem on all of them, including one that I just created. No one else can reproduce this? Go to the walkabouts menu, try drawing a walkabout, and wiggle around the mouse. |

Nope, not me. |
Comment author: @arperry This is working for me as of the latest nightly. No idea what fixed it, but I'm glad to have my cursor back. |

The palette issue seems to be fixed, but now the cursor disappears when editing walkabouts, etc., unless it's positioned in the drawing window. Ack! This makes it much harder to use.
