Clay Sculpture - High-fire, Jamaican clay
My idea with these four women was to make them share arms, joined accordian-wise, like a paperdoll. I am unhappy with many of the details of this piece, but I am very happy with the overall effect. Everyone who sees it for the first time always asks if it is a single woman in motion, but in fact the hair and clothing is different for each woman. The glistening black metallic look of this clay is simply the clay's natural color after firing. I did not have to do anything special to make it look like that. Beautiful clay! |
