The reason this article has been marked is: most of these test results are old versions of windows, running old versions of the OHRRPGCE before TMC's performance enhancements in the werewaffle release. This page should probably be updated to reflect a more systematic investigation of both operating system compatibility and the minimum computer hardware required to run the OHRRPGCE at a reasonable speed

There are no set system requirements for the OHRRPGCE, but a Pentium II running at 400MHz with 128Mb of RAM is a good minimum for the Windows version.

Following is a list of all computers that the OHRRPGCE has been tested on:

Contents

[edit] Windows

[edit] Windows XP

  • Runs at full speed on an Intel Celeron 1.7GHz with 96MB of RAM
  • Runs at full speed on an Intel Pentium 3 800MHz with 256MB of RAM
  • Runs at full speed on an AMD Duron 700MHz with 384MB of RAM
  • Runs at full speed on an Intel Pentium 2 350MHz with 256MB of RAM

[edit] Windows 2000

  • Runs at full speed on an AMD Athalon 2700 (2.1 GHz), with 512MB of RAM
  • Runs at full speed on a Pentium 2 400mhz, with 96MB of RAM

[edit] Windows 98

  • Runs fine on an AMD Duron 700MHz with 256Mb of RAM
  • Runs fine on an Intel Pentium III 650MHz with 192Mb of RAM
  • Runs fine on an Intel Pentium III 450MHz with 512Mb of RAM
  • Ordinary games run full speed on an Intel Pentium II Celeron 366MHz with 64 MB of RAM, heavily plotscripted games like Baby Bob the Hamster run too slow.
  • Runs TOO SLOW on an AMD K6/2 350MHz with 128MB of RAM (I should re-test this one)

Have you tested on a newer Windows 98 computer?

[edit] GNU/Linux

[edit] Debian Linux

  • Runs full speed on a Crusoe 700MHz with 256MB of RAM

Have you tested on an older Linux computer?

  • Runs fast enough on a Pentium II 266MHz

[edit] Other

[edit] ReactOS 2.9.0 (Live CD)

  • The FreeBasic version of the OHRRPGCE freezes the computer just before trying to paint the file selection menu on an AMD Duron 700MHz with 256Mb of RAM.
